Chapter 33
Ten Years Later
Ten years later, the Northern Dominion had become the strangest kingdom in werewolf history.
And everyone blamed Danny.
Not that he minded.
—
The grand throne room was packed with wolves waiting for their turn before the Queen.
Not the King.
The Queen.
Because somewhere over the last decade, Danny had somehow become the kingdom’s favorite ruler.
Mostly because he solved problems in ways nobody expected.
And because he refused to sit properly.
At this very moment, Danny was sprawled sideways across the royal throne wearing silk robes while eating grapes.
A worried wolf stepped forward.
“My Queen, my neighbor’s chickens keep entering my farm.”
Danny thought deeply for three seconds.
Then pointed at another wolf.
“You.”
The wolf jumped.
“M-Me?”
“Build a fence.”
The wolf blinked.
“…That’s actually a good idea.”
Danny smiled proudly.
“Next problem.”
The entire court sighed.
Their Queen was ridiculous.
But somehow he always solved everything.
—
Across the room sat the most feared Alpha King in history.
Or at least he used to be.
Lucas King no longer inspired terror.
Mostly because everyone constantly saw him carrying Danny around like a spoiled prince.
At the moment, Lucas stood beside the throne holding a silver plate of cut fruit.
Every few minutes he would hand Danny another strawberry.
Danny accepted each one without looking.
Completely naturally.
As if being fed by the Alpha King was normal.
Which, after ten years, it was.
The court didn’t even react anymore.
“Open.”
Danny automatically opened his mouth.
Lucas fed him another strawberry.
The council members stared at the floor.
It was safer that way.
—
Later that afternoon, court finally ended.
Danny immediately flopped backward dramatically.
“I’m tired.”
Lucas didn’t even look surprised.
“You sat all day.”
Danny pointed accusingly.
“Mental work.”
Lucas nodded seriously.
“Of course.”
Then he bent down and lifted Danny into his arms.
The entire court watched silently.
Again.
Because this happened literally every day.
Danny immediately wrapped his arms around Lucas’s neck.
“Take me home.”
Lucas kissed his forehead.
“As you wish.”
The former terrifying King carried his husband away while discussing dinner plans.
No one questioned it anymore.
—
The palace gardens had become Danny’s favorite place.
Large trees.
Flower paths.
Comfortable benches.
And absolutely no paperwork.
That evening they sat together beneath the golden sunset.
Danny lounged comfortably with his head in Lucas’s lap while Lucas read reports.
Or tried to.
Because Danny kept stealing his attention.
“Lucas.”
“Hm?”
“I solved seventeen problems today.”
“You did.”
“I deserve rewards.”
Lucas smiled.
“What reward would you like?”
Danny thought carefully.
Then pointed toward the palace.
“Chocolate cake.”
Lucas closed the report immediately.
“Done.”
Danny grinned.
Victory.
—
Ten years had passed.
Yet Danny still looked exactly the same.
The same bright eyes.
The same dramatic personality.
The same laziness that somehow enchanted an immortal king.
Immortality had frightened him at first.
But not anymore.
Because every year with Lucas somehow felt too short.
Even ten years later.
—
As the sun disappeared below the horizon, Danny looked up suddenly.
“Hey.”
Lucas glanced down.
“What is it?”
Danny smiled softly.
A rare genuine smile.
Not teasing.
Not dramatic.
Just happy.
“Thanks for finding me.”
Lucas went still.
Even after ten years, the memory of losing Danny still hurt.
But the memory of finding him again?
That one healed.
Lucas leaned down and kissed his forehead.
Then his cheek.
Then his nose.
Making Danny laugh.
“There you go being emotional again.”
Lucas smiled quietly.
“Only because you’re here.”
Danny rolled his eyes fondly.
Then snuggled closer.
And beneath the evening sky, surrounded by a kingdom that adored them, the Alpha King and his Queen sat together exactly where they belonged.
One a terrifying immortal ruler.
The other a lazy human-turned-immortal who accidentally conquered an entire kingdom by refusing to work too hard.
And somehow-
they lived happily ever after. ❤️
