Chapter 6

When Sheng Shao You opened his eyes two days later, his back hurt and he was in a strange room.

He laid motionless for a bit, staring up at the ceiling. Trying to make meaning of his almost dissociation with reality. His mind was blank and he was weak all over. But he was inexplicably happy.

He turned on his side, groaning underneath his breath. The room tilted on its axis, his gaze snapping up. His eyes widened a fraction at the view before him.

Big round eyes stared back at him. Owl-like and intent. Still, a softness to its intention.

Like it had been watching him the entire time.

Quietly. As an owl would.

“Mr. Sheng, you’re awake.” said he who lied beside him in a deep, yet soft voice.

Shao You blinked slowly, charmed by his smile in full bloom. Hua Yong leaned closer and hugged him.

The alpha did not push him away. Nor did he look much surprised. Like he was expecting this.

His mind supplied no reason why that should be.

Only that it was.

“You,” Shao You murmured into the crook of his neck.

But it was unclear whether he meant the young boy from twelve years ago or the young man who broke his back last night.

“Yes, me.” Hua Yong answered to the obvious. “I love you, Sheng Shao You.”

The end.
