Odasaku “Edogawa” is the son of two of Japan’s most notorious villains of the 1990s—names spoken only in whispers, even decades later. His father is long dead. His mother is locked away in Tartarus, her mind fractured but her power still feared. His twin brother hasn’t opened his eyes in six years, suspended in a government-induced coma after an incident no one will speak of. And his adopted brother has disappeared entirely—”undercover,” they say, though Oda suspects that’s just the polite version of he’s being used. 

And on top of all that, Oda carries the burden of the world’s most powerful—and most carefully hidden—quirk. A quirk so feared, the government classifies it under the same level of secrecy as nuclear codes. A quirk capable of complete world annihilation.

Backed into a corner with nowhere left to run, Oda is quietly enrolled in the AU Program, a covert government initiative disguised as an international hero exchange.

He’s told there are three reasons for his enrollment:

One, so the government can monitor him under the guise of mentorship.

Two, so his quirk can develop under controlled circumstances.

And three, so that one day, he can become Japan’s greatest deterrent—its nuclear weapon in human form.

It sounds absurd. Oda thinks so, too, when the Secretary of National Security, Ango Sakaguchi, brings him the file. But the other option—life imprisonment in Tartarus, strapped to a hospital bed while scientists dissect his DNA—isn’t much of an alternative. So he signs.

The deal comes with conditions.

-No one can know his real name.

-No one can know who his family is.

-And no one can know the true extent of his quirk.

If any of these secrets are exposed, the deal is off—and Oda’s freedom with it.

At first, he drifts through U.A. like a ghost—watchful, detached, always a few steps behind his classmates. But the longer he’s there, surrounded by people who dream of saving others, the more something old and fragile stirs in him. A memory. A dream he once had before the world turned cruel: to become the hero his parents never had.

To stop good people from giving up on a broken world.

Suddenly, the idea of becoming a hero doesn’t feel so impossible. 

That illusion shatters during the training camp attack. Oda and Katsuki Bakugo are kidnapped by the League of Villains. In the chaos of battle, a single sentence from All For One changes everything.

“Oh… you’re one of his.”

It’s just five words, but they rip Oda’s world in half.

Because if All For One knows who he is—if he knows whose son Oda really is—then Ango will find out, and the deal will crumble. His life at U.A., his chance at normalcy, will vanish overnight.

Worse still, Bakugo was right there. And Bakugo isn’t the type to let go of a mystery.

What follows is a storm neither of them expects. Oda, desperate to keep his secret buried, tries to keep Bakugo at a distance; Bakugo, stubborn as ever, only pushes closer—angry, curious, and unwilling to admit the strange pull he feels toward the boy who keeps trying to disappear.

Their rivalry turns into a reluctant alliance. 

Two boys standing on opposite sides of power and social class, bound by a secret that could destroy them both.

In the end, Oda finds the thing he thought he lost years ago.

A reason to fight for something beyond survival.

A reason to believe in the possibility of heroes.

this book is a collaboration and continuation to an unfinished fanfic on zeroraide’s page called “Guns, Dogs & Hats” it takes place long after the events that happen in that book. it may not be finished for a long time but it’s writer is working with me on this one.

you don’t necessarily need to read it to understand what happens in this fic, but characters from Bungo Stray Dogs will appear and be rewritten to fit into the My Hero Academia universe. 

this fic will be flushed out enough to understand everything that happens in the unwritten part of that fic, we just wanted to let people know that in theory this is a crossover. Characters like Ango, Atsushi, Chuuya, and Ranpo will be prevalent in this fic, but their characters will make sense in context. 

we would also like to add that a portion of this fic is inspired by the brilliant Kiribaku fanfic “2am Knows All Secrets”. we would like to be clear that we have no intention of ripping it off, we were simply inspired by the concept and wanted to incorporate it into our own. completely recommend reading it if you ship Kiribaku as much as we do lol.
